David Pope<p>Brilliant Canberra weather for today's Memory Jog, the annual fundraiser for Dementia Australia.</p><p>I didn't know much about dementia until I had to. The Wicking Centre at the University of Tasmania runs excellent online courses when dementia does barge its way into your family's life. </p><p>Good for understanding dementia not as some sort inevitable forgetfulness that one might expect comes with old age, but a distinct disease process and terminal illness.</p><p>I drew a cartoon trying to capture how it overwhelms coping strategies in the early stages, to leave a person increasingly lost in a confusing maze of memories.
