CyrmaxMy Samsung Galaxy s5 is 32bit and sometimes it's problematic to find compatible apps. For example I was able to install Brave Browser only from GitHub releases via "brave-mono-arm.apk" file. I've installed <a href="https://mastodon.ml/tags/fdroid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#fdroid</a> app store and it works well (btw thanks for their great accessibility for <a href="https://mastodon.ml/tags/blind" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#blind</a> users). For Google Play apps I've tried <a href="https://mastodon.ml/tags/Aurorastore" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Aurorastore</a> and it works too. Free aps are downloaded even without a Google account. If you have paid apps, just login with your Google and download them. If some apps try to verify their license via Google services they will fail. But for apps which have no such checks everything will be okay. For example Advanced Braille Keyboard installs and works without any problems.For Russian users <a href="https://mastodon.ml/tags/RuStore" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#RuStore</a> also may be needed and it works normally. But if you have root, better add rustore to deny list in magisk before first launch. I use Microsoft Launcher on my primary phone but for the sake of battery and cpu optimization I'll stick to the default launcher on this old Samsung.Some accessibility labels in the UI are not translated to Russian and some buttons on recent apps screen have no accessibility labels at all. The left one is for share, the middle one is for force kill of current app and the right one is for closing all apps. CyrmaxI have found an old Samsung Galaxy s5 while reorganizing my old boxes with technical stuff.16 gb of storage, 2 gb of ram, 32-bit cpu, Samsung Touch Wiz on Android 6.0.1, everything working but battery is almost dead. Micah Ilbery :neofox_cofe:Getting very tempted to install GrapheneOS or Lineage OS on my pixel and see how far I can get without a google account and without pulling all my hair out. Most of the apps I use I can get without the play store, and I self host most of my own services. At this point I don't really use google for much of anything except Google Fi. Dane :Debian:Never could get any of the contacts merge scripts kindly recommended to me by the <a href="https://alpha.polymaths.social/tags/askfedi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#AskFedi</a> <a href="https://alpha.polymaths.social/tags/hivemind" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#HiveMind</a> to work, but I finally found my own solution, which should hopefully work:@libreoffice! ;) (and of course <a href="https://mastodon.online/@thunderbird" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@thunderbird</a>)<ol><li>Export contacts from Thunderbird to .csv</li><li>Make a copy of Contacts.csv for safekeeping, I called mine "Contacts-before-jiggerypokery.csv" ;)</li><li>Open Contacts.csv in LO Calc</li><li>Create a key column (A), put "Join" as the label in A1</li><li>Put <code>=TEXTJOIN(" ^ ",1,C2:AM2)</code> into A2 (You may have to replace AM2 with the end of your row if your CSV export has a different number of columns than mine)</li><li>Copy that cell and paste it down the entire column A (for every row that contains something)</li><li>Select A1 only, go to Data | More Filters | Standard Filter...</li><li>Make sure your A1 field ("Join") is selected, select "Not Empty" for the value, click "> Options" and select "No duplications" on the right</li><li>Hit Ok</li><li>Copy everything (now de-duped) to a new sheet, delete the old one</li><li>Create another new column (B) just to the right of the "Join" column, call it "Repeat?"</li><li>Paste <code>=IF(TEXTJOIN("",1,C3:D3)=TEXTJOIN("",1,C2:D2),"REPEAT","")</code> into B3</li><li>Copy B3 and paste it down the entire B column (down to the end of the data)</li><li>Look where you see REPEAT, and merge the rows that need to be merged</li><li>Delete Columns A and B (which you added), and save the CSV</li><li>Delete all of your contacts in Thunderbird, and import the new Contacts.csv</li><li>Pray</li><li>Sync your contacts</li><li>Enjoy!!!</li></ol><h3>Disclaimer, again: I am still going through my spreadsheet, so I don't know for sure that this works!!
