Les Voix du NucléaireRéflexions générales sur cette COP29 Surnommée la COP du « financement », cette édition a mis en lumière une incohérence : l’accent est souvent mis sur le coût actualisé de l'énergie (LCOE), qui mesure les coûts du cycle de vie des technologies de production, mais ignore les coûts croissants des réseaux liés aux énergies intermittentes.Cette omission biaise les débats, car plus la part des énergies intermittentes croît, plus les investissements dans les infrastructures augmentent. Si l’électrification massive est essentielle, elle ne suffit pas pour certains secteurs.Le nucléaire, capable de produire à la fois une électricité stable et de grandes quantités de chaleur, a été présenté comme une solution clé pour décarboner des secteurs difficiles. Les Voix du Nucléaire14/11/2024 - UK Pavilion : Baseload and Beyond Lors de cet événement organisé par Nuclear for Climate, modéré par Julieta Romero avec l'appui des Voix du Nucléaire, la discussion portait sur le rôle du nucléaire avancé pour la décarbonation industrielle.Un représentant de DP World, acteur de l'industrie portuaire, a mis en avant le potentiel des microréacteurs nucléaires pour réduire l'empreinte carbone des processus industriels sans attendre des infrastructures publiques. Il a cité l'exemple du port de London Gateway : entièrement électrifié mais dépendant encore du gaz naturel en raison d’un réseau électrique sous-dimensionné.<a href="https://mastodon.cipherbliss.com/tags/cop29" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#cop29</a>

Mais face à l'urgence climatique et aux limites du système énergétique, leur discours évolue, comme en témoigne la COP29.Malgré l'absence de représentants français en raison des tensions avec l'Azerbaïdjan, nous étions présents aux côtés du collectif Nuclear for Climate, coordonné par l'ENS, pour participer à deux événements marquants illustrant le changement de posture des industries, notamment dans les secteurs "hard-to-abate".
