This was a night I enjoyed more than i thought i would.</p><p>The reason i worried about my enjoyment is that I had already been out all day at a corperate event in the city.</p><p>With no time to travel back home to pick up my kit I was stick lugging it round with me all day.</p><p>Luckilly my friend Ox (pictured in the Gallery in the vest and blue ) offered me a place to put my feet up and gave me a hearty meal between the corperate event and the fun sexy event.</p><p>I also tried something <a href="https://mastodon.hypnoguys.com/@MuttBanjo" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@banjo</a> came up with. Bodywriting “tip your bootblack” on my back. From talking to a lot of the crowed a lot of peope were having to do christmas work parties before they came, and others wanted to do rubber underground before they came. </p><p>My chair was also a little less buisy than normal, with only 5 Johns. this was a good thing because it meant i got to have more fun. it felt nice to chill and talk with people after doing thier boots. Bootblacking is often about the connection with the person you are working on and i was really feeling it tonight.</p><p>I also loved that the bootblack stand was right underneath the christmas tree. For Take a Stand it’s all about</p><p>As far as I know, this was the first time Take a Stand has been held outside america and I am very grateful to the organisers for doing so.</p><p>They actually brought a full portable bootblack stand with them!</p><p>This is the first time I have ever gotten to work with a purpose built stand rather than rigging together seats and benches.</p><p>I got there kind of early and got to meet so many of the other bootblacks from all over Europe and the USA. Both baby bootblacks starting out, seasoned ones and title holders.</p><p>it was so cool to meet so many amazing people.</p><p>It was a fun time comparing kits and experiences.</p><a class="" href="https://bootblackcub.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/pxl_20241102_1433392807E24213936413292723666-1024x771.jpg" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">[🖼 a tabeau of may of the bootblacks working at thier craft.]</a><p></p><p>In total there were 4 stations we roted through.</p><p>I kind of regret not making sure I had a turn up in the one set up in the dark room.</p><p>It’s also the first time I have gotten to bootblack for my Master in public, and I was very grateful he could be there.</p><p>We actually were the first bootblack and John on the big stand!</p><a class="" href="https://bootblackcub.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/pxl_20241102_1340339661337039928553043406-771x1024.jpg" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">[🖼 My Master, HairyHypnotist, sitting back in the bootblack stant, one leg cocked up on the bootrest, eminating a very sexy aura.]</a><p></p><p>At the end of the night we downed brushes for a combination of a charity auction, and to each have a turn in the spotlight.</p><p>It felt like a very special moment, to stand before my peers and community and have our achievements read out and acknowledged.</p><p>This typifies one of the things I love about the bootblacking community. Buck Moon<p><strong>Steps to become a Bootblack</strong></p><p><strong>STEP 1 </strong>– learn how to do a shine</p><p><strong>STEP 2</strong> – get the basics for your kit</p><p><strong>STEP 3</strong> – Start bootblacking privately as part of kinky hookups.</p><p><strong>STEP 4</strong> – Start bootblacking publicly in bars.</p><p><strong>STEP 5</strong> – Get to know more bootblacks</p><p><strong>STEP 6</strong> – Realise how much gender diversity and expression exists in the bootblack community. Realise how many bootblacks are trans or nonbinary.</p><p>As you learn more about all the ways people can experience their gender identity and express gender, start to think deeply for the first time how you feel internally. </p><p>Start to realise how you feel internally doesn’t match up to what a lot of other people experience with their gender. Sit with that a bit. Wonder if you are more on the nonbinary spectrum. </p><p>Learn about different gender identities outside the binary, and one description resonates with you. Is that a right fit for you? Look around you and feel like a fraud for not being gender-nonconforming enough. </p><p>Decide to add they as secondary pronouns, just as a show of support and to help normalise it in society. </p><p>Slowly, start to talk about how you feel with close friends. Start to test the waters by low-key slipping your duel pronouns into bios. </p><p>Grow more comfortable thinking yourself as nonbinary, even if you mostly still present as your birth gender. </p><p>Start to talk publicly about being nonbinary. </p><p>Have friends tell you helped them by being openly nonbinary, and they are now going through their own journeys of self discovery. Feel like a fraud because you don’t feel ready to be an example to others.
