This Is My GlasgowJust over a year after it was set fire to and destroyed by vandals, the train in Houldsworth Park (known to pretty much everyone as the Train Park) in Anderston has finally been replaced, much to the joy of the local kids. This Is My GlasgowGood morning, Glasgow. After what has seemed like several weeks of rather drab starts to the day, this morning we were finally back to being treated to a stunning sunrise. This Is My GlasgowWater was pressurised using massive steam engines at a pumping station on High Street and then sent through 30 miles of pipes below the streets to power industrial machinery in workshops across the city. This Is My GlasgowLooking south from a pedestrian bridge over the M8 and the on ramps to the Kingston Bridge in Glasgow. I count 19 lanes in total (10 on top and 9 underneath).
