Polar Bears

Taking refuge from the weather on the small island of Kolyuchin, known for the weather station that once operated on it in Soviet times, photographer Dmitry Kokh saw movement in one of the abandoned buildings that remained in the village since the station had closed in 1992. Polar Bears had moved in!

While on a bird tour this weekend, a lone killdeer kept pacing back and forth in front of a couple of the vehicles. Eventually, it realized it could get closer.

Back to its nest.

C'est la journée mondiale du castor, souvent considéré à tort comme un animal nuisible parce qu'il "modifie la nature" (alors que contrairement à une autre espèce, il améliore l'environnement au lieu de le détruire).

The Goldfinches have been perching in our Monkey Puzzle Tree again recently.

I didn’t get out to do any birding last weekend so it was nice to see more birds visiting the garden again.
