argv minus one<p>I don't suppose there's a <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/terminal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>terminal</span></a> escape sequence that causes it to display some text in a new window? Because that would be an interesting alternative to a traditional <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/pager" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pager</span></a>: instead of paging through the output of a program, it is displayed in its entirety in a separate window.</p><p>I think <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/macOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>macOS</span></a> used to do this with man pages, but the feature seems to have been removed.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/Unix" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Unix</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a></p>

Kool Tech Tricks<p>🧼 mat2 — консольная программа для очистки метаданных файлов различных форматов: картинок, аудио, видео, документов, архивов.</p><p><a href="https://0xacab.org/jvoisin/mat2" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">0xacab.org/jvoisin/mat2</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p>Каждый файл может содержать невидимые метаданные, которые могут рассказать многое: кто, где и когда его создал, на каком устройстве, при каких условиях. Инструкции по установке mat2 не совсем интуитивно понятные, и могут возникнуть трудности: <a href="https://0xacab.org/jvoisin/mat2/-/blob/master/INSTALL.md" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">0xacab.org/jvoisin/mat2/-/blob</span><span class="invisible">/master/INSTALL.md</span></a></p><p>Использование:</p><p>Очистить метаданные файла file.jpg. Флаг -L предотвращает это.<br>$ mat2 -L file.jpg</p><p>Есть веб-версия этого инструмента: mat2-web (<a href="https://0xacab.org/jvoisin/mat2-web" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">0xacab.org/jvoisin/mat2-web</span><span class="invisible"></span></a>). Пока что она в бете и не рекомендуется для серьёзного использования. Веб-версия должна удалять все загруженные файлы. Попробовать можно здесь: <a href="https://metadata.systemli.org" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">metadata.systemli.org</span><span class="invisible"></span></a> или <a href="https://mat2web.dev" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">mat2web.dev</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://lor.sh/tags/terminal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>terminal</span></a> <a href="https://lor.sh/tags/privacy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>privacy</span></a></p>
