@Gargron Greetings! Thank you for creating and releasing Mastodon for everyone to build communities, make connections, and support a decentralized Internet. I’m really curious about the long-term vision for Mastodon. As the network grows, what are some of the things the development team is most excited about building or improving, while still staying true to the principles of decentralization and user control?

Hey! I’m writing an essay about the #fediverse for an assignment i was given to enter in a university :ghibli_sip:

I’m new here and still trying to get how everything work, do you have any suggestions about any important matter you think i should talk regarding fediv?

Do you guys think that this will be the future of #socialmedia ? Or will it remain just a niche thing?

What would you consider to be some criticisms??

(The essay should turn around this other one: ijoc.org/index.php/ijoc/articl)

A little banner I made using my own #photography and #editing to add onto a video outro I made, that points to my #kofi page.

I hate asking for money, but I feel like I have a chance to actually be a content creator online, and so I figured I would suggest to others that the option to pay me for all my efforts exist.

If I could never work a regular job again, I'd be very happy. Never was happy as a waiter or host like I used to be. Lot of money, lot less satisfying to me.

John Burn-Murdoch (FT) asks whether 'passive consumption & constant context-switching' in our use of social media is behind the rising number of people who have difficulty with literacy & numeracy?

Thus, while international & active use of information technology can be empowering, for too many (he suggests) the shift to a more passive relationship with what their digital devices offer is having a negative impact on information processing skills....
