Ruarí ØdegaardOne of my colleagues works remotely and used to do occasional testing on a <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/Mac" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Mac</a>. However the Mac he had was left lying around since it was stuck on 10.13 and hence has not been getting security updates since November 12, 2020 and has not even been usable with Vivaldi for a long while also.We are sending him a newer Apple Silicon based Mac (since that would also allow easier testing of internal builds using iOS simulator) but in the mean time I pointed out that he could upgrade his current machine with <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/OpenCoreLegacyPatcher" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#OpenCoreLegacyPatcher</a>, despite Apple preventing upgraded via the regular method.He went all the way from <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/macOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#macOS</a> <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/HighSierra" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#HighSierra</a> 10.13, right up to macOS 15 <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/Sequoia" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Sequoia</a> without any obvious issues. Rusty CorgiHuh, macOS finally added native window snapping :blobfoxeyes: That was about a decade overdue. They also copied the little window tiling popover menu that Windows 11 put on the maximize button. It's super nice. :blobfoxfloofhappy:One thing that's super weird though is how the side-by-side tiling from the workspace switcher is still there as an entirely different system to the window snapping. Today's early run I was given the honor of having the entire Mariposa Grove to myself. What a treat. Yesterday's run was a similar solo affair reaching into the back country beyond Chilnualna Falls. Interesting.I was trying to generate a DANE record with <pre><code>sq network dane generate uvokchee.de .local/share/pgp.cert.d/d8/282056687016852d7954ff062b92b7c02e9784 </code></pre>My DNS provider failed at adding it, the developer tools revealed the endpoint was giving me a 502. I used <a href="https://www.huque.com/bin/openpgpkey" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank">https://www.huque.com/bin/openpgpkey</a> instead. That gave me a completely different DNS entry to add.The DNS RR content looked like base64. So I did basically a <code>base64 -d | gpg --list-packets > somefile</code> for both RRs and compared them.Then it hit me. Using <code>.local/share/pgp.cert.d/d8/282056687016852d7954ff062b92b7c02e9784</code> is an utterly stupid idea. It contains non exportable signatures . So my DNS provider was actually rightfully rejecting this payload!edit: Nevermind. I'm a silly chee. I used the wrong domain name!edit2: Nevermind2. uvokJust watched a talk about "Sequoia PGP", and I'm not 100% I "get it", the sq command line interface in particular. I can download my WKD keys, but apparently I can't "list all public keys" I have - but maybe it's because my mental model still works in terms of gpg, and sq seems to have another model.
