Eric 🇨🇦Guitar used throughout the song was Danelectro 59 on panned hard left picking and hard right strumming tracks. P-bass, drums, main vocal and 2-track stereo keyboards up the middle. Two separate takes of backing chorus vocal tracks were panned hard left and right. I programmed the drum track, which is the free MT Power Drum Kit plug-in. Guitar effect pedals used throughout on the Dano 59 were Keeley compressor and Strymon BigSky on a Magneto preset. Vocal mic was Apex 550 FET large diaphragm condenser. Keyboard was a cheap ancient $50 used Yamaha PSR172. Interface is Scarlett 4i4. DAW is a 2017 free version of Tracktion Waveform. Eric 🇨🇦After a couple weeks of evenings down in the basement, finally got my new tune finished. Messed around with the mastering presets tonight and got a decent one which I tweaked a bit. Glad it’s done. Every friggin track has manually set volume automation, and lots of it on the main vocal track. And the comping looks like a freaky jigsaw puzzle. Basement is a mess. Arto KoivistoSaturday afternoon sound design build: Made this small foley box from a slab of asphalt and some terrace decking scraps. 🤠There’s feet to lift the slab slightly off the floor, abt 5-7 cm, enough to put a small mic underneath. Tho it remains to be tested if the mic position is any good.Carry handle is bit of a joke really - feels like it can barely take the weight. Not like there’s need to move this around much. NadiaPurgeMade an accidental awesome recording today while testing a <a href="https://musician.social/tags/TASCAM" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#TASCAM</a> 424mkII before sale.Since I am brand new at <a href="https://musician.social/tags/analog" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#analog</a> <a href="https://musician.social/tags/recording" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#recording</a>, and this technology is still a bit confusing, I made a mistake and did not arm all tracks to record at once, leaving unintended sound ongoing throughout all but one track at a time.Turned into very avant garde stuff - a Frank Zappa interview on top of slow, distorted backward audio from The Cult, I think?Had to keep it! Oops made something cool today. Haha!
