Jack Zhang (📹🦝 Raccoon)<p>I think some of the <a href="https://furry.engineer/tags/FSR4" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FSR4</span></a> instability can be attributed to uneven multiples for resolution height pixel count and width pixel count for the source resolution for each preset.</p><p>What would be extremely helpful would be a resolution scale slider integrated into FSR4 for a manual render resolution selection rather than a preset. Making that standard in a native FSR4 game implementation can help reduce instability should people want a slightly higher source resolution than one of the presets.</p><p><a href="https://furry.engineer/tags/AMDRadeon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AMDRadeon</span></a> <a href="https://furry.engineer/tags/RX9070XT" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RX9070XT</span></a> <a href="https://furry.engineer/tags/RX9070" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RX9070</span></a></p>
IsThereAnyDeal<p>Well the AMD 9070 XT GPU's are out of review embargo and the stats are coming in. TL;DR seems to be that it's hovering around the same performance as the Nvidia 5070 ti in everything but raytracing, where Nvidia still has some advantage. If they can manage to have actual supply and reasonable pricing, it could be a big win.</p><p><a href="https://youtu.be/yP0axVHdP-U?si=ijn7FFXPKr3O_AwY" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">youtu.be/yP0axVHdP-U?si=ijn7FF</span><span class="invisible">XPKr3O_AwY</span></a></p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/amd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>amd</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/nvidia" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>nvidia</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/9070xt" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>9070xt</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/rx9070xt" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>rx9070xt</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/videogames" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>videogames</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/gpu" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>gpu</span></a></p>
Jack Zhang (📹🦝 Raccoon)<p>Seems Hardware Unboxed are using "transformative" path tracing RT settings with upscaling to test the 9070 XT, while GN went for consistency for repeatable test passes and reasonable settings in a test bench situation. Two different ideologies to keep in mind when you look at <a href="https://furry.engineer/tags/RX9070XT" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RX9070XT</span></a> RT performance today. <a href="https://furry.engineer/tags/AMDRadeon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AMDRadeon</span></a></p>
Jack Zhang (📹🦝 Raccoon)<p>I don't like how AMD marketing fudged up the performance of path tracing to be better than it actually was. I also think heavy reliance on SAM (Resizable BAR) will hurt performance on systems without it, just like Intel ARC. <a href="https://furry.engineer/tags/RX9070XT" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RX9070XT</span></a> <a href="https://furry.engineer/tags/AMDRadeon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AMDRadeon</span></a></p>
