Just talked to the handyman my landlord hired to do the work to my unit. He says she inspected the work but didn't see anything he did. Also, she said my input was worthless. He is also strongly suggesting that she's about to jack our rent. Judging from her other listings, it will be in excess of 3x what we were originally paying. I've contacted the property owner who hired her to manage their properties, but I doubt they'll do anything.
Mom and I may need to move quickly. The way she keeps interrupting my classes, I doubt I'll be job ready in time. North Carolina has pretty nonexistent protections for renters. I hate to ask for more #mutualaid but I am.

So here's the situation, there will be another tax refund payment on April 5th to cover $230 of the next repair, but I need at least $300 more to finally settle everything once and for all, because we don't have the original Touch IC for this phone and motherboard. This does mean my friend who's got a SSD as collateral will have to wait but at least if I get the combined payments on April 5th, the phone will finally be able to be fixed and there will be no more issues.
If you feel charitable, $500 will cover the repair and my friend who's withholding a SSD for my PC that's required for me to do a clean OS upgrade. It's not urgent though as my PC currently works. It would be nice to be able to pay my friend but my phone actually being able to work is the important part.

Edit: I should make it clear: to fulfill gf's medical need, I'd have to dip into the rent. That's how tight I'm going to be running when I next get paid. We need to stay housed, so skipping on that is not an option. It's a rock and a hard place, basically.
There's still been no movement here, and gf's running very low now. I will not be able to help her anytime soon (or myself!), as I have to worry about all the upcoming bills that are stacked together at months end. For me, it's whatever, but for her, that's her anti-anxiety and mood stabilizer. Without it, that loss of stability has led to actively dangerous situations. Not can, has. I was there the last time it happened, and was able to help keep her safe, but because I'm working now: I can't always be there to guarantee that.
