EddiKat<p>Have not been this deep into the pack in a long time! 181 miles round trip to visit family. Usually when I make this trip in cold weather, I keep it to 65 on the outbound leg, but today I threw caution to the wind and just did 75 the whole way both ways. </p><p>The computer says I got 2.5 miles/kw. EddiKat<p>So after putting some miles on the rack, both local and highway, I think I can say that this rack is super solid. I did a number of hard pulls, hard stops, and put some strong lateral-Gs on it all while loaded. I even kicked out the rear end of my Mach E at least once. </p><p>Not even a wiggle. </p><p>I'll still need to see how it holds up long term to Michigan weather, but for now I think I can safely suggest an 1UP rack if you are in the market. </p><p>I purchased the heavy duty model by the way. Not technically required for my current bike, but I wanted the flexibility in case I ever wanted to add on a second bike or an e-bike. </p><p>The only issue I've had so far is that, depending on how the bike is loaded, it may interfere with the blind spot sensor. EddiKat<p>I got to the trail about 8, got unpacked and geared up.</p><p>I hit the trail with enthusiasm! The first part of the run was all downhill, so I tried to keep my speed under control while the grin on my face got bigger. </p><p>Down hills come at a cost though, so I started slogging up an uphill section. While tiring, it was nothing I could not handle. </p><p>I had a few close calls going up and down, nothing I could not handle. Took a couple of dead end forks that could use some better trail marking too, but NBD there. </p><p>Eventually I came to the thing that ended my ride early: Flooding.</p><p>I pulled out my phone and headed back to my car by road after that. Still a good ride though, I learned a lot and I'm excited to go back. EddiKat<p>After some online research, I found a good candidate for my first "real" mountain bike excursion. Blue cruise does make the drive so much more enjoyable. EddiKat<p>Took my Mach E for a quick in state road trip today. 165 miles doing 75 the whole way. I managed 3 miles/KW without even attempting to be efficient. </p><p>Blue Cruise is a great tool for road tripping! I could focus on traffic around me most of the time and only occasionally had to even put my hands on the wheel. EddiKat<p>Did a short road trip this weekend to visit family in my Mach E. The trip was about 180 miles round trip, mostly highway. Temps were about 40F for both outbound an inbound legs. </p><p>I set the cruise at 75MPH and was not aiming for efficiency in any way. My AWD extended range managed to get 2.7 MI/KW for the trip.
