Happy #Pride all!
It's also the Great Southern Bioblitz on #iNaturalist this weekend so I've been spending all day taking pictures of animals. Here's a variable ladybird beetle (Coelophora inaequalis—a native Australian insect) enjoying the morning dew.

Ladybug sets, #climatechange inspired!
Ladybugs are my favourite bug (beetle). They're so beautiful and have a very important positive influence on nature. They eat termites that make trees sick and help to keep plants alive.

Closeup of a #ladybug at a swimming pool, my boys and I visited.
Some call them #ladybeetle.
I didn’t realise there were over 6,000 species of these things - most have round to elliptical, dome-shaped bodies with six short legs.
They’re often coloured yellow, orange, or red with small black spots on their wing covers, with black legs, heads and antennae.
#ladybugs are generally considered beneficial insects, because many prey on aphids or scale insects, which are agricultural pests.
Plus they’re gorgeous to watch … living their best lives!
