Her imagination sparks when he sends her a biography of the 19th century Russian anarchist Peter Kropotkin. The story juxtaposes Naguset's personal and political coming-of-age in her loving family home with Kropotkin's rocky upbringing in a princely palace. Sir Rochard 'Dock' Bunson<p>I had 2 friends today talk about the tendency of people to put their head down & continue on despite what's going on around them. They had different reasons for posting and examples of this, but this effect is the same. </p><p>There are many reasons that we should help each other. There's anarchist research & philosophy from thinkers like Kropotkin to back it up, but the brass tax is that we are stronger together. The only people that benefit when he ignore the suffering of others are <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/billionaires" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>billionaires</span></a> and those in power. </p><p>I know that one of the primary ways that I convince myself to ignore a problem or request is by assuming that the need isn't as real or as dire as it sounds. </p><p>Shit is real dire for a lot of people. This was because he wasn't a Bolshevik. It wasn't allowed to exist. 😅 </p><p>He freaking loves Orwell. The books of course, but especially his other writings and essays in the Guardian(?) Says they aren't even teaching Orwell in USA schools and other "controversial" literature near to the extent they did even 20 years ago. (I would actually like to look into this for my own edification. Thoughts?)</p><p>He said that he was familiar with Kropotkin, but not read at all or informed to speak on him.
