The thing is that only in retrospect this is something we see in our own works some years after we have written it because only then, we have enough distance to see it. And this is just the personal aspect.People in the future are looking at works written a long time ago through the lense of history, so they know what happened and what the outcome was, so they will interpret it in a very different way than we can, today.Having said that, I think the topics - death - violence - injustice - love - hope - understanding and embracing differences - make it through terrible events and difficult times - how to prevail when the cards are stacked against you are fundamental to being human, so I hope the tale as such is not irrelevant once taken out of its time. Everybody who plays a role is in a difficult, potentially life-threatening situation. Stakes, much? 🤔 😁

Maybe a freestyle wrestling match with Cox, a strategy game with Waylon, or a game of 'thorn in a rhogar's paw' (a bit lost in translation, it is very popular on Phtat'Grthak. I think if someone did something terrible to Raffi and she wouldn't be there to stop him, he would be pushed over the edge, eventually. But I think the mental image of Aretha then probably would keep him from going full evil.Siff is more complex as a character. Morally grey to start with, she only began reflecting on morals relatively late in life (figures, if you grow up on a planet on which a constant civil war rages for more than 200 years). I think it wouldn't take too much to push her and, like with everything, she would strive to be the best villain the universe has seen. Raffi deals with Siff's temper just like she deals with the temper of everybody else: slightly amused and staying true to herself. She has worked for Galahad for so long she is pretty good at managing him although he is theoretically her boss. With Siff as the newest addition to what she thinks of as her family she just handles her with the respect she has for the older woman. This means she tries to learn from her as much as possible but also calls her out for shitty behavior.<a href="https://mindly.social/tags/HeraldPetrel2" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#HeraldPetrel2</a>
