Ed<p>Been fighting with a weird bug / issue in Bazzite, and (knocking on wood) I think I may have finally figured out what triggers it?</p><p>For the months now, I would have an issue (at least daily) where my center monitor stops updating the picture. If I don't resolve the issue (typically by ctrl+alting to a diff session and then back) quickly enough, eventually the remaining screens would stop updating, and the entire system would hang.</p><p>This problem seemed to get worse when I tried using Floorp for my browser, so on a whim I've tried going back to a diff browser as my daily driver - and specifically using Vivaldi (Chromium based) for my always-running-twitch-stream.</p><p>And so far, the issue hasn't resurfaced...? Again, knocking on wood?</p><p>Like I'll be truly happy if that issue is resolved with this, but am going to be very irate if there's just some weird intersection of firefox fork / nvidia drivers / video streaming / bazzite that I discovered, causing this hang. :/</p><p><a href="https://furry.engineer/tags/bazzite" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bazzite</span></a> <a href="https://furry.engineer/tags/firefox" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>firefox</span></a> <a href="https://furry.engineer/tags/chromium" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>chromium</span></a> <a href="https://furry.engineer/tags/linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>linux</span></a> <a href="https://furry.engineer/tags/twitch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>twitch</span></a></p>

Robert Mader<p>4. Thanks to <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/libcamera" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>libcamera</span></a> enablement work, udmabuf is available to users by default in many distros now and <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/systemd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>systemd</span></a> 257 sets an uaccess tag. It's not yet available in <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/flatpak" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>flatpak</span></a> without device=all, though.<br>5. The main missing DRM formats are three-plane &gt;= 10 bit ones that are compatible with what sw-decoders produce.<br>6. AFAICS the approach should work equally well for clients like <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/mpv" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>mpv</span></a>, <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/firefox" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>firefox</span></a> and <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/chromium" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>chromium</span></a>.</p>

As a refugee from <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Arc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Arc</span></a>, I love the similar tab UI and the split-screen view. And it has all of the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/privacy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>privacy</span></a> features of Firefox, with none of the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/chromium" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>chromium</span></a></p>
