Chris Alemany🇺🇦🇨🇦🇪🇸<p>The solution to the problem of "where to plug in" is one of imagination, not infrastructure.</p><p>1) All businesses and places of work must have 120V outlets or 240V stations. I am charging at work today. While I have to pay $8 for parking, I will save about $4 in charging cost vs charging at home.</p><p>2) Fossil Fuel purveyors -- as part of their mandated phase out — must be *forced* not only to greatly increase their charging infrastructure, but ensure that ****IT IS AS RELIABLE AS A GAS PUMP.*** That is not currently the case.</p><p>3) PUBLIC TRANSIT PUBLIC TRANSIT PUBLIC TRANSIT -- This should be the huge opportunity to massively expand and electrify (with overhead wires, batteries only as backup) public transit so that less people need to use cars. </p><p>CAR CULTURE ITSELF IS NOT SUSTAINABLE.</p><p>4) New homes, apartments and all housing simply must include a plug (240V or 120V) on any parking space. This is obvious enough now that it should barely be mentioned and it's why I put it last.</p><p><a href="https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/canada-electric-vehicles-charging-ports-1.7058158" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">cbc.ca/news/canada/canada-elec</span><span class="invisible">tric-vehicles-charging-ports-1.7058158</span></a><br><a href="https://mstdn.chrisalemany.ca/tags/EV" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>EV</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.chrisalemany.ca/tags/Cars" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Cars</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.chrisalemany.ca/tags/Charging" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Charging</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.chrisalemany.ca/tags/Canada" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Canada</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.chrisalemany.ca/tags/CdnPoli" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CdnPoli</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.chrisalemany.ca/tags/CanPoli" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CanPoli</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.chrisalemany.ca/tags/ClimateAction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ClimateAction</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.chrisalemany.ca/tags/EndFossilFuels" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>EndFossilFuels</span></a></p>
