Debra MartzAmerican White Pelicans Gliding Along by Debra Martz I love fall migration, when thousands of Pelicans grace the lake just 45 minutes from our home. It is especially nice on a sunny day, even if it is chilly. Debra MartzAmerican White Pelicans Searching For Fish by Debra Martz These pelicans often work together, side by side, in large groups and herd fish into shallow waters. Other times they will flip over like dabbling ducks or like these two, they will glide across the top of the water repeatedly scooping for fish. Debra MartzAmerican White Pelicans Fall Migration by Debra Martz We drove to Great Salt Plains State Park in N Oklahoma to see if migration had started. I would say it was a big yes for the Pelicans; not the biggest numbers like in past years.
