Hannah Howe
I love these ancestral snapshots. 1921, my 3 x great grandmother Sarah Ann Cottrell is a widow (her husband was lost at sea when she was 34). Hannah Howe
The 1920s

On 5 February 1924 a radio time signal was broadcast for the first time, from the Royal Greenwich Observatory, signalling Greenwich Mean Time.

Greenwich Mean Time was first adopted in Britain in 1847 by the Railway Clearing House, and by most railway companies the following year.
