At least one of them feels the need to escape her own home to *fill out a ballot*.
Sounds like how abuse victims are written about, doesn't it?
These women, like doubtless many across the country, and many young people who are coerced by parents, siblings, and others, aren't slightly annoyed rich housewives. The examples in this story may be (or appear to be) mild, maybe very mild. But let's still call it what it is. These people are victims of a domineering, putrid, backwards, patriarchal culture. This country is diseased.
