We have hashtags like #mushtodon and #FungiFriday but what about one for polypores? I was thinking #polyporn, seems like nothing could possibly go wrong with that.

A single pale thin mushroom, its cap tattered by hard weather, protrudes from the mossy and jagged exposed wood of a shattered old tree stump. It almost seems like a climber on a steep mountain nearing the peak.

A small drawing of Macrolepiota Mastoidea Mushrooms also known as Slender Parasols. The Mushroom is tall and slender with a pale brown cap with a darker brown area near the crown that breaks into scales.
They are fairly common in Britain and Ireland and they also occur across most of Europe. It is edible and tasty but bears a resemblance to some toxic mushrooms!

an artist's conk mushroom on the end of a tree stump, with a white underside, and a light creamy golden topside covered with yet another light layer of snow, with chunky near-melting ice crystals

an initially puzzling geometric layout, with a number of perpendicularly-angled mushrooms on a fallen log, whose history I eventually puzzled out:
1)tree grows upright, mushroom grows horizontally
2)tree falls over, mushroom is now vertical
3)MORE mushrooms grow horizontally, around the now vertical one
4)snow falls, covering the horizontal ones, but leaving the vertical one conveniently snow-free

from a dead tree stump grows a sequence of three shelves of mushrooms with golden edges and brown-black tops, the upper two of which are covered in a moderate amount of snow that is at the verge of melting

a larger overview of a massive cut-down tree stump with dozens of mushrooms growing around its border, the whole scene coated in a thin layer of snow that is now speckled through from thick raindrops, the temperature having risen enough to turn the snowfall to rainfall

After the snow melted, I found these waterlogged and mumpy Cinnabar Polypore [Pycnoporus cinnabarinus] mushrooms.

Closeup of three bright cinnamon colored shelf mushrooms growing on a fallen branch. The one in the middle hangs slightly over the one of the left, while the smallest, on the far right, is kind of blobby and might actually be two mushrooms fused together. They are all somewhat bean-shaped.

#FungiFriday - This is the type of photos where I spend more time in the field than in post-processing to obtain the result that I want. This is how I approach my work: take the time to properly capture the subject (light, settings, perspective, composition...) in order to avoid spending ''hours'' trying to fix mistakes in post-processing.

Fashionable muted hues on these Turkey Tail [Trametes versicolor] mushrooms.

Looking down at an angle at a moss covered fallen branch in the woods. It is nearly covered with shell-like flat mushrooms growing out from the side. The tops are a multitude of colors, all muted, of tans, grays, browns, and white. There are approximately 75 mushrooms pictured.
