However, I want to propose an argument, that it absolutely is possible that they can <br>Only if, if they fit a specific criteria. By definition of what LGBTQ+ is actually meant to stand for as a whole.</p><p>LGBTQ+ is about, broadly speaking, protecting people with minority stand points/ <a href="https://sakurajima.moe/tags/identities" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>identities</span></a> that may challenge the traditional way / the non <a href="https://sakurajima.moe/tags/suppressed" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>suppressed</span></a> traditional way of life for people.</p><p>So if someone is, only just straight they would *not be considered as an LGBTQ+ person. However, if a straight person were to for example identify themselves as <a href="https://sakurajima.moe/tags/aromantic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>aromantic</span></a> or as <a href="https://sakurajima.moe/tags/demisexual" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>demisexual</span></a>, for example. Or even an <a href="https://sakurajima.moe/tags/asexual" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>asexual</span></a> person that might still dig straight vibes in their life.</p><p>But these stances / <a href="https://sakurajima.moe/tags/identities" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>identities</span></a> may potentially still challenge the traditional:</p><p>"the guy and the girl have to get to know eachother, and have romantic moments and get married after first doing that. " type of vibe.</p><p>Meaning that, in fact straight people can still be a minority and should fall under the LGBTQ+ umbrella by definition of the movement itself. But only under certain criteria, should they actually be considered marginalized under it. </p><p>Technically it is possible that, a trans person (depending on their gender identity and attractions.) Can be straight but see, they are marginalized even if they might be straight.</p><p>But, if a person is literally just straight in the traditional sense because then it's not very <a href="https://sakurajima.moe/tags/marginalized" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>marginalized</span></a> in comparison. Even to an asexual person, that might still lean more straight but in a more <a href="https://sakurajima.moe/tags/marginalized" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>marginalized</span></a> way.</p>
Emi<p>Tbh I changed my own percieved identity atleast 3 times.</p><p>I started with <a href="https://sakurajima.moe/tags/demisexual" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>demisexual</span></a>, then went to <a href="https://sakurajima.moe/tags/asexual" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>asexual</span></a>, then currently and likely my final identity change landing at <a href="https://sakurajima.moe/tags/aromantic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>aromantic</span></a>.</p><p>Suposibly, a straight person being aromantic could actually be apart of the <a href="https://sakurajima.moe/tags/lgbtq" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>lgbtq</span></a> umbrella because what aromantic represents is a minority identity.</p><p>According to some reddit posts. However, they do need to be aromantic or any of the other identities, not just plainly straight. ( you can be an ally at most.)</p>

Kevin Davy<p>It's apparently aromantic awareness week. At 60, I only realised a few years ago that this is what I was. Before that, I didn't have a name, only the reality. </p><p> One of the things I always knew, from quite a young age, was that I would never be married. As a teen and young man, I was painfully aware of the pressure to settle down and get into a settled relationship. But, to be honest, I never had the desire to. It's not that I didn't try, but it was certainly more in terms of thinking that I should do, rather than because I had any real desire to. It was not a pleasant time in my life. The relationships I did attempt never ended well, which was hardly surprising and almost totally my fault and I always felt a certain amount of guilt about that. I also felt a degree of shame about the way I felt and the need to hide it. It was yet another way in which I was different and the sort of different that stood out and set me apart from others.</p><p> Of course, being an undiagnosed autistic, this feeling was nothing new. I had always been different, in so many ways and learning how to hide that, at least as best as I could, had become second nature by then. It also gave me another reason to, that I was so fundamentally broken, that I couldn't even function normally in this way. That it wasn't me, it was all the ways in which I was wrong and dysfunctional and the low self-esteem that arose from this, that made me this way and that if only I could find the key to understanding and therefore potentially fixing this, then I could be alright.</p><p> Not that I was going to get to that point for a long time, or that fixing this was ever really an option. But, as the years rolled by and the pressure to be in a relationship faded, I did manage to settle more into my solitary life, without feeling the guilt and failure as much as I did, but with it still being there. Of course, as a man, I had the advantage of being able to do this. There is a quantifiable and appalling difference in the way men and women are treated in this respect. In the ways in which society views unmarried, or unpartnered, men and women, that has nothing to do with the reality and everything to do with prejudice, bigotry and sexism. Something that may never entirely be eradicated. Because the normative expectations of what it means and the ways it should be expressed are deeply engrained. </p><p> But, the simple fact is that, being in a traditional romantic relationship is as impossible for me to imagine, or want, as being in a homosexual relationship is for a straight person, or vice versa. We are the way we are, simple as. Not because we're broken, or wrong, or defective in any way. But, because it is our nature. Vanessa Nightshade 🏳️⚧️<p>Hi! I am Vanessa. You may call me V if you prefer, or Ness if we are mutuals who interact regularly. I am part of a plural system, but I am still developing my individuality. I am not the dominant part of this system (yet 😈). This system is 42 years of age, and as far as I am concerned, it will always be 42. 42 is a good number. </p><p>I love beautiful things in all their forms, whether it be people, adorable animals, or most importantly, the night sky. I enjoy playing Dungeons & Dragons, as roleplay has been quite therapeutic for this system. I enjoy retro gaming with Retro Achievements, as it breathes new life into old games. I also enjoy creating art, but I rarely get to front long enough to do so.</p><p>I keep sociopolitical content to a minimum on this account, as such content tends to pull Alyx to the front. I need this to be a peaceful sometimes playful environment, but I will occasionally boost sociopolitical content related to gender and trans rights. Most other boosts will be things we simply find interesting or amusing. None of us will be offended if you mute our boosts.</p><p>This entire system is AuDHD, though some of us have more severe symptoms than others. I am incredibly sensitive to light, so I front the most after dark and need dark glasses during the day. We have a blood disorder, and we all seem averse to high-sulfur foods such as onion and garlic. Our gums have receded a bit over the years, making our fangs look longer. Medically speaking, this system is a vampire, though we do not actively participate in any rituals surrounding vampirism or the occult at this time. However, I do have a passing interest in witchcraft and hope to have the opportunity to learn more about it in the future.</p><p>This system is medically disabled. Permanent injuries led us to need to use a cane from time to time which helps with our limited physical abilities. I am mostly a homebody, especially in winter, however, I wish to take up nature photography as an enjoyable way to get more exercise. Alyx used to enjoy being out in nature before their anxiety got the better of them. I want to tap into that to help them heal as well as give me an opportunity to exist in meatspace more often.</p><p>This system thrives on attention, so flirting is okay as long as all involved are adults and it is understood we are not available for anything beyond that. We are autistic af, though, so flirting may go over our head.
